Description
The Olympus C-740 Ultra Zoom is a compact camera released in 2003. It features a surprising number of features a photographer would appreciate, like advanced metering, priority and manual modes, and a decent macro function. The camera takes beautiful photos straight out of camera, but it does autofocus slow and have slow operation speeds. If shooting in RAW (TIFF) writing can take upwards of 15 seconds. If you can find it for $5-$15 it represents a fantastic value camera with a surprisingly capable sensor and lens. Much more than that and you start to get into the territory of more capable digicams that may be a better buy.
