My love for this camera started in 2015 when I needed a digital camera for my college courses I was taken. The colors that come out of this sensor are amazing especially if your in a studio setting. You'll also have to get use to the menu system my only issue is after 7 whole years with it and using it almost daily is the image stabilization system is dying. I cant complain I used it a whole 7 years. In that time I used it to finish my photography degree, shot countless weddings, been in the studio over a million times it seems, and it's been my daily camera every day. it does not deserve the hate

I bought one of these new in 2013, body only, it was my first digital camera. I had been working in a photo lab for a while, and was a bit of a analog purist, but this camera caught my eye. It could be used with any K-mount lens... Which meant I could ease into the tech and have the cushion of a fairly large sensor with film camera lenses I already had. I loved it... I used the SMC Pentax-A 28mm f2.8 lens almost all the time. I loved the crop factor, I shot 50mm quite a bit on film SLRs, and 40 or 45 on rangefinders. It was the end of film for me, which I don't see as sad in the least. I finally graduated to autofocus with a Pentax DA 21mm f3.2 a few years ago, and after realizing I still had the first firmware version, upgraded to fun time. In Japan, I've had several people come up to me and admire it in camera shops, as if it's a forgotten relic. It still functions great, it's gotten a little scratched up over the years, but a decade later (and about 10,000 shots) still a wonderful machine. It's not a camera for pure performance, it's a funky camera with great IQ, and it has lots of character.
