Description

The Sony F828 is a fixed lens bridge camera released in 2004. It features an 8mp 2/3" CCD sensor with a unique RGBE type color filter array. That's Red Green Blue and Emerald. It was the first, and subsequently last, of it's kind. Beyond the color filter the camera features a twisting body design, allowing you to rotate the lens up or down and maintain grip, LCD viewing angle, and buttons from the same position.

It is a great camera to try infrared photography, because you can remove hot mirror with a strong magnet. ISO 400 is barely usable though. I do not need any card readers because I can transfer files via Mini-USB Type-B. Battery life is so good! This is a very cool professional camera from the 2000s with a MSRP of $1000.

An amazing camera and this baby still creates fantastic photos, especially for the 'Gram if you love sharing pics online. Be prepared for people asking you barrage of questions if they see you using it. This is a uniquely designed piece of technology and most people may have never heard of it. Tips: 1. If you don't have a Memory Stick Duo card (it's a Sony proprietary flash memory card), you have two options: get a standard Type I CF (Compact Flash) card - OR - if you want a more high tech solution for wireless transfer of pics from camera to phone, get Wi-Fi Type I CF card adapter with a slot for microSD cards from Amazon. Also, find and download the "WiFi@SDCF" app in your app store (note: I have an Android phone and Google Play app store has it.). Maximum memory I have used is a 2GB microSD card. 2. Get spare batteries. Trust me, this camera EATS power. Have at least 3 batteries for this camera and a compatible travel charging set (cord and battery dock). 3. It takes terrible low light pics. Stick to bright daylight to acceptable cloudy days to get the most of the camera's sensors. Be intentional and have a clear idea of when and where to use this camera. 4. Great travel camera. Just be prepared to get asked when you're "at work".
